He was never trying to show off, never trying to turn a song into a guitar solo sandwich. He's always played funky, chunky, loose but never sloppy.<br /><br />He's sort of the "anti-Hendrix" - a drugged-out axeman who couldn't imagine a 4-second guitar fill without turning it into a 4-minute, nonmusical solo.<br /><br />Gimme Cropper over Hendrix any day!
