Todd Rundgren Nominated
to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Class of 2019!
|
However, this seemed important enough to share.
Todd Rundgren is on the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame ballot for 2019, and fans get the opportunity to influence the outcome.
From his production work to his signature tunes to the number of RNR Hall of Famers who name him as an influence, Todd certainly has had an impact on rock and roll, and deserved to be enshrined before the hip hop (?) artists that beat him in there.

Hey, he can finally join Rush! Never thought I would see that happen either.
ReplyDeleteRush deserved it just for their staying power and creating the business model that a lot of other progressive bands use to stay solvent (studio release, tour, live release). I have a co-worker who is a huge Rush fan and he is convinced they are done, but I wonder if they might continue to release music but limit their touring. I could see them doing a two or three week run of shows in Toronto and letting the fans come to them.
DeleteSorry it took so long to see this-I almost never get online anymore (the site is blocked at work)
I was glad to see your comment on my post. I'd been wondering about you.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that Rundgren isn't in the R&R Hall of Fame already. He does deserve to be.

Hi, Lee-sorry it took forever to reply but I rarely log in these days. I spend so muc time on a computer at work that I can't bring myself to log on at home, and when I do it is usually to get CD's listed on Amazon or eBay (been selling off a lot of my collection).
DeleteHope all is well with you. I have mixed feelings aboutthe Hall of Fame just because so many non-rock artists are in there, it feels like the Grammys do to me-more of a popularity contest than anything else.
I fully understand--I'm not on the computer like I used to be and blogging less.
DeleteSounds like you are in a state of mind like mine. I'm thinking about getting rid of a lot of stuff. And at the end of this school year after my wife retires we'll be moving. Got too much stuff now.
