STUCK OUTSIDE OF BLOGVILLE WITH THE WINDOWS RECOVERY VIRUS BLUES AGAIN

Not sure how I keep doing this, but I got a virus that masquerades as an anti-virus program that pretty much makes my computer at home inoperable.

So while I figure this thing out (it has thwarted my feeble attemps at innoculation so far), my blog is going to be on hiatus....

But hopefully I will figure things out soon and heal the machine!

  2. It's a lie! He just ran out of music albums to review.

(I knew your CD collection couldn't have REALLY been as big as you say. You were just attempting to induce in us CD envy.)

  3. Image reminds me of Floyd.

Blogger seems largely buggy this week but they're not the only ones. Apparently the 'New York Times' online has had third-party ad buyers putting malware in the script. Bad news.

Still, I think your prism will work its magic.

  4. Stephen-

Then you won't mind alphabetizing them for me, right?

    Suze-

What worries me is that all I remember doing prior to getting the virus was looking at a couple of You Tube videos. I assumed they scan their uploads. Maybe not.

That is a Pink Floyd cover, by the way, from one of the many CD releases of DSOTM.

  5. I almost forgot, Alex-that is weird. When I first read your comment, the buttons looked find. As I type this (on my PC at the office) they are all gone.

Maybe I got this virus from Blogger...

    Have a good long weekend!

  6. I've been having problems with Blogger this week as well! I cannot leave a comment unless someone has the pop-out box like you do...if it's just the comment page, I can't say anything! And I cannot sign out of the dashboard page, but if I'm on the home page, it says I'm not signed in...so I click 'sign in', and it takes me back to the dashboard, which I cannot sign out of! Also my followers button is like a ghost..it reappears and disappears on a whim it seems....also, that virus you mentioned...I've had that a few times! Suddenly my computer is inoperable, all I can see is a thing telling me to buy the windows virus protection program...I had to get someone who knows what they're doing to fix it for me..and I've had this problem once since it's been fixed! What worked for me the last time was to shut it down and turn off the modem for a minute...that seemed to restore it..good luck, and I'm so glad you're using this format for comments, so I can comment! I sure hope Blogger straightens everything out soon...btw, I love the pic of the cat! He looks like such a peaceful, knowing guy!

  7. How annoying. Be careful-word on the net is that Apple is getting affected with viruses and a software is going to be needed for protection. I knew this day would come.. How's the computer now?

  8. Hi, I stumbled on your blog, awesome spot to waste a few hours listening to music! I had trouble with blogger logging me out repeatedly, thought it was all blogger's problem and was mad at their inability to offer a solution to all the frustrated bloggers. I figured out that if I switched browsers it worked just fine. Must be an internet explorer problem. Firefox and GoogleChrome have no troubles. Anyway, thanks for introducing me to Warren Haynes, he wasn't on my radar, but he sure is now. Also, can never get enough of Todd!

  9. Hi Mel-

Always great to meet a fellow Todd fan!

  10. "PSEUDO"-DISCDUDE ~
Because of your vast music collection, I have always assumed that you (were the only person on planet E. who) could beat me at a 1970's Rock trivia contest. Now I ain't so shure.

Tonight, brother Nappy and I watched the 'Alias Smith And Jones' episode titled "Jailbreak At Junction City". At one point, Smith and Jones start singing some song while incarcerated. I immediately stopped the DVD and said, "NO FLIPPIN' WAY!"

Why? Because they were singing the lyrics to a Bob Dylan song: "She Belongs To Me". ["She never stumbles / She’s got no place to fall".]

I thought: Would they really include an anachronism like that as a wink to their audience? (Breaking the 4th wall, in a sense.) Or is that particular line from some 1800's folk song, which Dylan stole and included in his song?

A quick Google search tonight turned up nothing but the Dylan song.

Did you not catch that, DiscBoy?

If not, then... IT'S ON! I ain't intimidated no mo'!

Let's find a disinterested third-party to formulate the test and we'll bet a Blizzard on the outcome. I'm down a Blizzard now, and I aim to get my money back! Money... that's what I want!
    ;o)

  11. :) I know it's a Floyd cover-- a bit tongue in cheek. Hope you're bouncing back, soon.

  12. Suze-

Since the original DSOTM cover was black, I wasn't sure you'd know.

I should be getting some new posts up this week.

    McDogg-

    It's on, dude!

  13. Ah, now you say it, you're right. Maybe I was just assuming without knowing.

    Cool.
