26 QUESTIONS AND MORE THAN YOU EVER CARED TO KNOW ABOUT ME

I saw that CW over at Tilting At Windmills was participating in this blog hop and decided to invite myself.

A word of caution to The Doglady's Den...

See what happens when you leave the door open? Anyone can wander in...

A- Age 54 and counting

B- Biggest fear: Wow…so many…I guess heights

C- Current time: 10:00 am

D- Drink you last had: Barry Crockett Reserve whiskey

E- Every day starts with: Flipping the seat up and taking aim

F- Favourite Song: Parallel Lines by Todd Rundgren

G- Ghosts, are they real?  I don’t believe in them, but am willing to concede to my friends who do believe that ghosts do not present themselves to me because of my close-mindedness

H- Hometown: Newtown Square, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia suburbs)

I – In love with:  a memory I can’t put my arms around

J- Jealous of? The arms around the same memory

K- Killed someone?: Not yet, but I am willing to learn

L- Last time you cried?: When my mother died

M- Middle name: Michael

N- Number of siblings: five-four still inhabit this plane of existence

O- One wish: Make it quick

P- Person you last called? A lady friend

Q- Question you’re always asked: Do you listen to all your CD’s? Well I have a lot of them, so not every day.

R- Reason to smile: the cat is sprawled across the desk and purring as I try to type this

S- Sounds that annoy you: my alarm clock, the cat meowing for food

T- Time you woke up: 5:30 am-although this picture makes it look far more allruing than it was-see the answer to letter "E"

U- Underwear colour: white, black, gray

V- Vacation destination:  That I’ve been to-Ireland; Bucket list-Australia

W- Worst habit: perpetual wise ass

X- X-Rays you’ve had: Teeth, right knee, lungs, right arm...I may have had a head xray as a kid....don't remember (too many knocks on the head)

Y- Your favourite food: for a meal, chicken, for dessert-a Tastykake Coconut Junior

Z- Zodiac sign Libra

There you have it.

Like I promised, more than you ever cared to know. Blame CW...if he hadn't participated, I would not even know about the whole exercise.

  1. I admit it. I apologize to everyone who had to put up with this debacle. Except for the song, which was very good. If it helps any, I have dark navy underwear on today.

    1. There's a saying about why men wear dark underwear...but I am far too high brow to repeat it here!

  2. I like that you're willing to learn to kill someone.
Never heard of Tastykake Coconut Juniors. Maybe only available up north?

    1. Tastykake is a Philadelphia company, and while they sell some of their products as far west as Arizona, the coconut juniors are hit and miss....although I've seen them in Florida.

It's best I cannot get my hands on them.

  3. I usually get up at 5:30 (or earlier) as well so I can wake my wife up so she can get off to work. Lately as I recuperate I've been staying in bed though I still have been waking up at 5:30.

I did this meme for my A to Z at my Wrote By Rote blog except I stretched it out for 26 days. Talk about getting maximum mileage with something.

    1. I'm not an interesting enough person to stretch this out for 26 days...people would nod off by "C"

      Welcome back, my friend!

  4. Enjoyable way to know more about you! You made it even more interesting with the images and videos. Thanks for playing. I'm always happy to meet another music lover. Cheers! P.S. 54 is not fucking old! Just wait 'til you get to be my age! ;)

    1. It's not the years, Debbie-it's the mileage....kick my tires and the rust falls off!

  5. I would really love to go to Ireland. It's been on my bucket list for a while now (along with the rest of the British Isles).

    1. I was lucky to have a job for several years that sent me to the United Kingdom several times, as well as to South Korea and all over North America. I recently went back to Ireland (first time there since 1992) and boy has it changed. It's still beautiful, but when I went in the early 90's it was kind of a quaint well-kept secret, and very different visually from the US. On this recent trip, there were five Starbucks' within a square mile in downtown Dublin, McDonald's signs on the mass transit. Still beautiful to visit, but very Americanized.

  6. Is Barry Crockett anything like Betty Crocker? (Yeah, we're both swines when it comes to whiskey)

Also, on a more serious note, have you considered upgrading to the Tastykake Coconut Senior?

    1. Anytime someone gives me a free shot from a EURO$300 bottle of whiskey, I'm drinking it. And it was awesome.

And don't knock the Tastykake until you try it...

    2. We'd take a free shot from a $30 bottle of whiskey. We won't know how to truly savor what we're drinking, but we'll still drink it.

And I'm not knocking the Tastykake. Consider that jealously, that unless either of us somehow makes it out to Philly one day that we'll never be able to try it.

    3. That shot was the first time I drank a shot of whiskey that didn't have that kick at the end-there was warmth from the alcohol, of course, but that day I learned what "smooth" mean when you are describing whiskey.

Well, at least you flip the seat up first! (And BTW, I have no respect for any man who puts the seat back down afterwards. Putting the seat down is women's work.)

When it comes to food, your tastes are simple: Chicken and a piece of store-bought coconut cake? Not even chicken prepared a certain way? (And here I thought I was a simple kind of man.)

Is that 'WHO'S NEXT' compact disc still available?

    1. A lot of people lump Tastykakes into the same class as a Hostess Twinkie, and while they are certainly not gourmet, they actually have a shelf life that is expressed in months, not centuries, so they are fresh tasting when you eat them-but yes, I am kind of simple when it comes to food.

You'd mentioned two CD's and I was looking for that comment over the weekend but can't get back to it. Shoot me a text or e-mail with the names of the CD's and your mailing address (thought I had that but can't find it either).

  8. Brilliant answers :D W was laugh-out-loud. Same goes for K. I made me want to put my arms around you. I get the same Q, but for books ("Have you read all of them?" "No, they're there because they go well with the wallpaper." Seriously...) Glad you wandered into Debbie's hop!

    1. Glad you liked it, Guillie-I have a similar (but smaller) book problem-the "to be read" file goes up faster than I can read them. And I encourage you to go with the "arms around" impulse! Thanks for dropping by!

  11. What are Tasty Cake Coconut Juniors? Must try one. I'm afraid of heights, too. I see no reason to go above the second floor of anything. Great to meet you on the TMI.

  12. Lovely to meet you. I love your approach to the blog hop and your visuals! The pain of losing a mother is a deep pain and it never goes away. I miss mine and think about her all the time. I participated in the hop too and hope you can pop over and visit! :-)

    1. I lost both parents within a few months, and it is definitely a part of life that I wish people experience as late as possible-enjoy people while you have 'em because it's all temporary (at least in this life).

  16. I got a chuckle at your travel bucket list. Last year I traveled to Ireland (my bucket list goal)with my sister and brother-in-law. They live in Australia. And yes, a long, long time ago, I visited them, but it's been so many years, Australia is back on my list.
