I'VE GOT A BAD FEELING ABOUT THIS...

iZombieLover and Ellie Garratt are hosting the Top Ten Horror/Science Fiction Movie Quotes Blog-fest. On a Sunday, no less!

While I am not the movie aficionado that Alex J. Cavanaugh or the hosts are, I have been watching movies since the Nixon administration, and many of them were science fiction. Not so many horror, so while I can think of ten quotes that are memorable, they are all from science fiction films.

So without further ado, here is a countdown of my top ten most favorite lines from science fiction movies.

Number 10

“Get your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape”

from Planet Of The Apes

Number 9
"This is like finding Moses' DVD collection!"

from Aliens Vs. Predator

Number 8

“Doc, are you telling me you built a time machine out of a Delorean?”

“The way I see it, if you’re gonna build a time machine out of a car,
Why not do it with some style?”

from Back To The Future

Number 7

“Come quietly or there will be trouble”

from Robocop

Number 6

“Do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold?
It is very cold in space.”

from Star Trek II:The Wrath Of Khan

Number 5

“This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.”

from 2001: A Space Odyssey

Number 4

“One thing’s for sure, we’re all going to be a lot thinner”

from Star Wars

Number 3

“If the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists”

from Jurassic Park

Number 2

“I’ll be back”

from Terminator

Number 1

“There can be only one”

-from Highlander

OK, I know this is supposed to be a music blog, but this is an interesting diversion, right? Plus, Queen did the soundtrack to Highlander, so there's your music tie in.

The reviews will resume tomorrow.

I'll be at the Santisi Brothers Super Bowl extravaganza today. I have no idea who to root for...or against.

Go....Go Daddy Girls!

An awesome list - so many of them nearly made it on to my list. Some I'd forgotten about, like Highlander!

Thank you for taking part!

It's too bad you haven't watched my borrowed copy of 'The Sentinel' yet, because then you might have included one of my own favorite lines from a horror movie:

"Black-and-white cat, black-and-white cake!"
~ Mrs. Clark from apartment 4a

Of course that wouldn't really make your list, and I'm not even quite sure why it WOULD make mine. Only to say that for some reason that line always creeped me out a little. I think primarily because of the way the old woman says such a nonsensical thing but with this clear tone of anger in her voice just kind of... eew! Creepy!

Ever since I first saw 'The Sentinel' in a movie theatre in, what? - 1975? - that line has stuck with me, and whenever anyone for any reason would say "black and white cat" (which, indeed, doesn't happen THAT often) I have always immediately countered with "BLACK AND WHITE CAKE!"

And then, of course, all the other people present just look at me with this expression that clearly says, WTF?!

Dang! Now I'm craving a piece of black and white cake. (Although I suppose I'd settle for a piece of black and white cat - if properly cooked.)

Ellie-thanks for hosting-it was a good idea. I almost forgot Highlander-I was getting ready to post, and I had the "I've Got A Bad Feeling About This" line on my list, and suddenlt "There Can Be Only One" popped into my head.

Good thing, too-it's a great line!

DL-I know they're working on a Highlander remake, which I have mixed feelings about.

McC-I had watched the Sentinel prior to this. I still don't know what the heck they meant by that line!

An awful lot of actors who would go onto bigger things had bit roles in that film (didja see Tom Berenger at the end, and Jeff Goldblum as the photogropher?)

Wonderful list. We quoted several of the same movies. I didn't quote Jurassic Park, but it is one of my all time favorites.

Oh! You got Robo Cop in. But we all know there can be only one... and that is TERMINATOR! The title alone - superb movie ;)

Oh I'm glad you included Jurassic Park! It didn't quite make my top ten but it's a favorite in the house and I am glad to see someone else mention it!!! Great Star Trek quote too!

I went with the same Jurassic Park quote. Didn't even think about Robocop though!

Love the list- I've got the same BTTF quote. Lots of people have that Planet of the Apes quote- I've never seen the original. Looks like I'll have to try it out.

Yeah, and didn't Christopher Walken have a small part in that as well?

So?... You liked it? Hated it? Shrugged and went to bed?

McDogg-Yep Walken, Beverly D'Angelo-there were a few others as well that are not coming to mind.

I liked it ok-didn't care for the "freak parade" scene at the end (too campy and low budget), but it was suspenseful.

Great list of quotes! We share a couple that are the same. I just love the Jurassic Park one.

You don't always have to post about music. Consider today's post disconnected from music which makes it "disconneted".

Some great movies and lines here.

You and I both had The Planet of the Apes and Jurassic Park.
The Wrath of Khan is one of my all-time favorites, and I forgot all about it. I just can't believe it!
I neglected Highlander, too. Thanks for the Queen reminder.

I don't think I've seen Robocop or Highlander on any other list yet. Very original list. Thanks for sharing!
