Nicole Ducleroir at “One Significant Moment At A Time” is hosting a blogfest based on a list of questions developed by French journalist Bernard Pivot for a series he hosted on French television in the nineties.

Now I’m not saying this is one hundred percent, but these look an awful lot like the questions that Hugh Hefner asks of the girls who grace the center of his magazine. Which I only buy for the articles.

Am I wrong? “Turn ons, turn offs.” The are right outta the Hef book! I got suspicious when number eleven asked for my measurements.

Oh I’m kidding! It’s a good idea and easy to participate, so here goes…take that, Bernie P!

1. What is your favorite word?

Quizzes give it to me….

2. What is your least favorite word?

"Last call"

I know, that's two.

Sue me.

There’s no sadder time on earth…and right now it’s last call somewhere…

3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Meeting new people….and pissing them off

4. What turns you off?

People who seem obsessed with impressing me with something of theirs that I could care less about (job, car, etc), and I could care less about most things that are possessions.

I’m serious about this one-why do people care what I think?

I don’t even care what I think!

5. What is your favorite curse word?

I've spent the last twenty five years trying to curb my use of them, but for extreme effect, there's nothing like the F BOMB!!

I used to not be able to finish a sentence without it.

Now most people think I never swear.

Go figure.

6. What sound or noise do you love?

The sound of a can of Diet Coke opening…

7. What sound or noise do you hate?

Fingernails across a blackboard

8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

To own a small record label

9. What profession would you not like to do?

Anything involving having to sound nice on the phone

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

"You done good, son"

Or even, “You’re in

Pretty much anything but “You gotta leave” or “You may want to ditch the jacket

So there you have it.

My answers. The God's honest truth. Or the sordid and seamy truth.

Over the next few days, I'll make the rounds to see your answers.

And if I may, a shameless plug for my own forthcoming blog fest, the Super 8 Debut Albums Blog Hop.

Sign up now, and post your list on February 28!

Tomorrow, back to the music!

  1. >>.....People who seem obsessed with impressing me with something of theirs that I could care less about (job, car, etc), and I could care less about most things that are possessions.

I have an airplane. And a Corvette. And I was once on the fast-track to upper level management.

    Are you impressed?

  2. You had me laughing with your answers, but there was some truth to them somewhere if one thinks hard enough about it and who cares what I think. And whoever this Pivot guy is I want to know why he isn't signed up for the Super 8 Blog Event.

    Tossing It Out

  3. Lee-

There was plenty of truth there!

I wasn't thinking of who you obviously thought I was thinking of. This is far more widespread a problem than that!

  4. Wait! I didn't get eleven questions! Moving on...

Own a small record label. Cool! Go for it!

  5. Awesome answers! I was cracking up as I read. It's last call true!

Nothing else works like the F-bomb. :)

I'm intrigued that a similar questionnaire appears in Hugh Hefner's mag. I'd love to read some of those girls' answers!

Thanks so playing along. It's great to meet you!

  6. This is a legal advisement that I'll be pursuing a civil suit against your lack of respect for blogfest guidelines.
Using more than one word?? How could you?!
    :) J/K
Loved your answers and it's great to meet you. Just signed up for your blogfest, and noticed you already mentioned Pearl Jam's Ten... one of the best debut albums EVER!

  7. You had me at "diet coke opening"

    ahhh...what a sound. :)

    I'm your newest follower.

  8. PK-that blogfest was suggested to me by another blogger, and he thought (1) we'd be the only two participants and (2) it would be easy.

I'm glad you signed on, and I think you'll agree, it's not easy.

"Ten" did not make my final list, although you're right-it is a tremendous debut album.

  9. Welcome, Diana-

I just opened one right now! It is a great sound, right?

I was impressed by so many creative approaches to this questionnaire-although with so many writers I guess I should not have been surprised.

  10. Somehow my responses did not post the other day.

Nicole-I have not "read", gentleman's magazine in decades, but I seem to remember they'd always have a questionnaire that included "turn-ons/turn offs."

    Thanks for hosting!

Your Highness-Royalty on my blog! I am honored! Another idea would be a small record manufacturer-if I can find someone selling record presses...

  11. Well I have to take issue with the diet part....a real coke opening sounds better. Come on, how can you not like people trying to impress you!!! The entertainment value alone is worth as much money as they owe! Haven't you ever done the out of fashion old man routine? It goes something like this.

Hey Mr Oldefart see my new hot car?

Yeah, that's ok son, maybe next time you can afford the rest of it. Hey If you wash it a few times you won't have to worry about that dog pee eating that cheap for-nur paint.

My wife got me a rolex for my birthday!
We all have to sacrifice in these days, you'll be able to afford a nice timex like mine one day!

Bite me old man this watch is expensive!
Oh I see, I didn't realise that red car that parks here every time your gone was one of those sorts of presents...I thought you had a new young gardener! Well enjoy that watch boy, ya gotta be lookin at something to miss that ship sneaking in your harbor.....

I love people trying to impress me...come on.....somebody tell me something impressive!

LOL love your answers - nice ta meet ya
