"G" is for...

Galahad
GALAHAD "BATTLE SCARS"

The title Battle Scars weights a little more heavily considering that it was only in late 2011 that Galahad bassist Neil Pepper passed away at 44 folowwing a battle with cancer.

After a long career in the music industry, the members of Galahad are not quite as young as they were, and are on their way to becoming elder statesmen of the prog movement. Not a band to rest on their past achievements, this is an album that shows maturirty in the face of adversity with an occasional nod a nod back to times past. The production is very polished and allows all of the musicians to shine. The passages are complex yet brought together in a fashion that is immediate and melodic, with a rocking edge slightly dulled by trance/electronica grooves and lush symphonics with furious mellotron cascades, all balanced expertly in a bright mix. This is music that can be enjoyed on first listen yet the more times it is played the more the listener will get out of it.  This is truly uplifting stuff, brilliantly played. You have to admire the band's courage and determination to not be swayed by anything other than their inner muse. Galahad in 2012 have produced an album that would be very recognizable to the long time fan but pleasing to the young recruit who saw them at prog festivals in Europe.

  3. I'm confused. I don't see any text. Kind of an 80's sound but a name that sounds like a band from the early 70's. What's with the preview?
