F IS ALSO FOR TODD IN THE FRONT ROW

When Alex Cavanaugh told me that Todd Rundgren was in the front row on American Idol, I didn't know what it meant, having never seen the show.

It turns out, he meant exactly what he said. There's Todd, sitting in the front row.

Todd is scheduled to appear as a guest producer in the near future.

I'm conflicted.

I loathe the idea of American Idol, but I'm a Rundgren fanatic.

The US version of  Todd Rundgren's Johnson is scheduled for June 7.

And watch for Todd on American Idol on April 13.

  1. BRIAN WILSON has NEVER been in the front row at 'American Idol'.

(Looks like I selected the correct musical artist to idolize, eh?)

  2. That's 'cause them Amerikan I-dulls got no use for you rich California surfer boys and your convertibles!

On a serious note, as much as I am not a fan of the concept of the show, it is good to see TR get recognized for his body of work as a producer.

And are you sure Brian Wilson has never been on?

  3. American Idol is pathetic without Simon Cowell on the judges panel!

  4. The concept of Idol is really not all that bad. The taste of the voting audience often is. It is an intriguing show at times and they do bring in some interesting artists and producers. It would be pretty cool to see someone like Todd doing some production. I wonder if they would do an evening of Todd songs as well. I guess most Americans would never have heard of a lot of them, but maybe Todd would experience a resurgence of interest and recognition.
